Hi, I’m Mary. I’m originally from Ireland but I’ve been living in Greece for over twenty years. I have a B.A. in French and Spanish Language and Literature and I have the Cambridge CELTA qualification in teaching English. I’m also fluent in Greek and I’m studying German so I know about learning a foreign language from the learner’s point of view too. I’ve been teaching English for twenty-two years and I have a lot of experience in preparing students for international English exams.
When I’m not working, my three children keep me busy but when I have some free time, I read as much as possible and I do some translating. I enjoy going for long walks with my dog and cycling in the beautiful Greek countryside. I love travelling and l recently returned from Saudi Arabia where I was teaching and learning about the culture.
Whatever kind of course you want to take, learning a language should be an enjoyable experience and that’s why I like to provide students with plenty of interesting activities and the opportunity to speak English. I’m looking forward to seeing you in class soon!

Мои уроки с ней были действительно успешными и продуктивными. Сперва мы готовились к экзаменам IELTS и TOEFL — ранее я ничего о них не знал, это был первый опыт такого рода. Времени на подготовку было очень мало (в сумме 4 недели). Однако, благодаря Mary, я сдал TOEFL со второй попытки, набрал более 100 баллов, улучшив свой результат на 9 баллов.
Вместе с Mary мы вывели мои навыки Academical Writing на новый уровень, необходимый не только для успешной сдачи экзаменов, но и для учебы в университете. В дальнейшем Mary помогла мне при подготовке к интервью и написании эссе. Занятия с ней придали уверенность в том, что я могу свободно общаться с англоговорящими людьми. Mary очень талантливый преподаватель, она выявляет сильные и слабые стороны ученика и прорабатывает все ошибки, так что со временем они исчезают. Mary очень по-человечески относится к ученику, всегда готова пойти навстречу, если возникают непредвиденные трудности. В целом, Mary прекрасный человек, с ней приятно поговорить на разные темы. Всем очень рекомендую этого преподавателя.

I would like to thank the wonderful teacher Mary for all the lessons we had. She always responds sensitively to the student’s needs, which is especially difficult when the student can already speak, but needs correction of errors and pronunciation. I would like to resume classes soon, and I really hope that Mary will have time for our lessons. She is the best teacher!
